Finding the hotel
Hotel Malik faces Dal Lake on Boulevard Road, the main road along the lake's shore. Look for a four-storey cream building with the Boulevard Avenue restaurant at street level and a red Hotel Malik sign at the entrance and higher up the front. There is space for cars in the forecourt.
Mobile data can be patchy, and prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu and Kashmir generally do not work in the region, so save this page or our number before you set off. If you get lost, drivers and shikara operators along the Boulevard are usually happy to point the way.

From Srinagar airport
Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport is around 15 to 20 km from the hotel, usually 30 to 45 minutes by taxi. Prepaid taxis are available at the airport. Allow extra time when leaving, because airport security checks in Srinagar begin well before the terminal. Tell us your flight time when you book and we can talk through your arrival.
By train
Srinagar railway station at Nowgam is on the south side of the city, around 10 to 12 km from Boulevard Road. Trains on the Kashmir line connect it with Katra, where you can join the wider Indian Railways network. Take a taxi from the station to the hotel.
By road
Most drivers arrive along NH44 from Jammu, a journey of about 250 km that often takes eight to ten hours and passes through Banihal. Start early, leave time for delays, and check road conditions the day before, particularly in winter. In the city, head for Dalgate and then follow Boulevard Road along the lake.
Before you arrive
- Carry a government photo ID for each guest. Foreign nationals should carry a passport and visa.
- Let us know your arrival time, particularly for a late arrival.
- Bring warm layers from October to April. It can be cool on the lake even in summer.
- Carry some cash. Shikara operators and small vendors may not take cards.
