Inside the room
A tall bronze padded headboard runs behind the bed, flanked by soft wall lights and set against textured cream wallpaper. Deep red curtains echo the colour of the sofa, and the teal embroidered runner across the bed brings in the colours of the lake outside. Timber-look flooring keeps the room warm in tone, and a wall-mounted air conditioner handles the warmer weeks of summer. There is a telephone on the bedside table for reaching reception.
Who it suits
Choose this room if you are travelling with children or parents, or if you are staying long enough to want a proper place to sit with your morning tea. It also works well for couples who simply like more room. If your group is larger than a double bed comfortably takes, tell us how many adults and children are coming. We will suggest what would work, whether that means extra bedding or a second room close by.
Planning your stay
Families often split their days: a slow morning on a shikara, a meal at Boulevard Avenue downstairs, and a rest in the room before an evening walk along the lake. With the restaurant a staircase away and the shikara ghats across the road, nobody has to arrange a car for the simple parts of the day. For day trips to Gulmarg, Sonamarg or Pahalgam, we can talk through timings before you commit.
Travelling with children or parents
Tell us who is coming when you enquire, because small details make the stay easier. If a grandparent would rather avoid extra stairs, or a toddler naps in the afternoon, mention it and we will take it into account when we suggest a room. The forecourt parking means bags and car seats do not have to travel far, and the lounge downstairs gives the group somewhere to gather before heading out for the day.
Asking for a rate
Rates change with the season and the dates, so we quote for your stay rather than publish a single figure. Send your dates and number of guests on WhatsApp and say whether you would prefer to face the lake or the hills. We will reply directly and do our best to arrange the view you want. There is nothing to pay to enquire.
